New Member: Wedding Story Writer

Hello everyone! I'm new to this wonderful community and want to introduce myself.

My name is Michelle McMurray and I am the founder of Wedding Story Writer--a new type of wedding vendor to the industry.

I started writing wedding stories 10 years ago after my brother was married. After that wedding, I wrote several stories for friends and relatives who married, giving them to the couples as wedding gifts--and they loved it. It later dawned on me that I could make a business out of it, but I was still in school getting my MBA, so I didn't have time to actually spend forming a company. As soon as I was out of school, I took a short break and began forming Wedding Story Writer.

We are hired to attend weddings and write the entire wedding story as it is occurring. We intently watch everything going on at the event--listening to stories, eavesdropping on guests, tasting food, watching all of the events unfold before our eyes. As we are doing this, we are writing non-stop (and I do mean non-stop!) Even as we eat we are writing...

The end result is a custom hand-bound leather book complete with the wedding story (bios of couple), hand-drawn illustrations of the couple (or anyone they choose), watercolor paintings, vows, poems, and the list can go on and on...we allow our clients' imaginations to be the deciding factor on what their dream book entails.

Wedding Story Writer is just a baby, but we have writers across the U.S. and in Spain and Italy, although those divisions are still in the initial stages. We have 8 writers in the United States. We can travel for destination weddings and other events.

Thank you for the wonderful feedback! It's a work in progress, but we are coming along. I have a solid team of professionals working with me and feel confident we will one day be on everyone's wedding planning list.

I love this so much, there's someone similar in the UK, but it sounds like your books are a lot more detailed- as far as I know, she just does the story and nothing else. Welcome to the forum x

I have two more stories to put up but haven't gotten final bride approval yet. One bride is in Africa and the other in Nevada. I hope they give me thumbs up soon so I can upload the stories.

I have 4 weddings in the next 6 weeks, so there will be another large upload in April/May, then another wedding in June. In other words, stay tuned for more wedding stories.

Did you actually go to Africa for a wedding?!!?

No, that bride is in the army and stationed there. After her wedding she immediately hopped a plane to go back where she is stationed. Her new hubby is over there with her honeymooning/working, and they are not returning to the states until May. That's when they will see their wedding story.

I would go to Africa if someone needed me to go, however.
